About the Role

Join Perseus Mining Limited as an Environmental Advisor based in Sengerema, Mwanza Region, Tanzania. This role focuses on overseeing and coordinating environmental monitoring and compliance for mining operations, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and support to employees and contractors to ensure environmentally sound operational practices.

  • Contribute to the preparation of the environmental department's annual budget.
  • Implement and maintain waste management systems including hazardous waste handling, recycling, waste reduction strategies, and both onsite and offsite waste disposal.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least six years of pertinent experience in environmental management, preferably within the mining sector.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation processes.
  • Proficient in environmental management software or similar platforms, as well as MS Office and Acquire Database software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for interaction with multiple stakeholders.
