Estimator - Transmission & Distribution (CSA)

About the Role

Join the STS Group as a CSA Estimator within our Transmission & Distribution department. This position involves crafting precise and competitive cost estimates tailored to high-voltage substation and grid connection projects. Close cooperation with engineering, planning, and procurement teams is essential to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to grasp project scopes, technical specifications, and tender requirements.
• Analyze employer demands to ensure all aspects of scope and compliance are incorporated into tender documents.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to understand project conditions and limitations.
• Extract detailed quantity measurements from design drawings and compile in-house Bills of Quantities.
• Collaborate with other estimators to accurately price civil, structural, and architectural components.
• Issue Requests for Quotations to suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Assess bids from suppliers and subcontractors for technical adherence, pricing competitiveness, and overall value.
• Partner with project planners to create comprehensive tender schedules for civil construction phases.
• Support the transfer of winning bids to Operations, ensuring clear communication and continuity.
• Attend pre- and post-bid meetings with clients and stakeholders as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience specializing in CSA estimating.
• Demonstrated expertise in estimating for high-voltage substations and grid connection projects.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Robust commercial insight with strong analytical and numerical capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and estimating software tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for site assessments and project meetings.
