Role Overview
As an Evening Assistant Editor, you will play a key role within our editorial team focusing on enhancing the quality, precision, and timeliness of news and current affairs coverage. This position involves leading and mentoring a team of content producers while overseeing the planning, assignment, and execution of editorial tasks during the evening shift from 4pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday.
Daily Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the publication of news content across the website and social media through effective editing, story curation, and task delegation.
- Spot and prioritize significant news developments locally and from international events relevant to Singapore.
- Engage actively in news gathering, reporting, and developing story ideas.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the evening content production team.
- Manage project schedules and allocate resources independently to ensure timely delivery.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will bring at least four years of operational experience within a newsroom or similar environment, along with proven team management and project coordination skills. The role demands strong critical thinking, a broad reading habit, curiosity, creativity, and a deep enthusiasm for current affairs, people, and politics.
