Job Overview

The Facilities AMP Manager will serve as the lead engineering authority overseeing the sub-AMP managers for various Facilities Sub-AMPs. This role manages an asset lifecycle portfolio encompassing planning, design, construction, maintenance, repair, sustainment, restoration, modernization, and demolition of facility assets. The position supports the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) based at Al Udeid Air Base, Doha, Qatar.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice for comprehensive oversight of facilities and linear infrastructure portfolios, delivering recommendations for government investments aligned with asset visibility, requirements, planning, and performance.

  • Advise on developing requirements executable through either operations flight labor or engineering flight managed projects.
  • Conduct work planning by grouping requirements into potential opportunities and estimating costs and work scopes.
  • Engage in creating the Integrated Priority List (IPL) and Squadron Execution Plan.
  • Lead biannual AMP working groups reviewing asset visibility, portfolio risks, project candidates, KPIs, completed objectives, and plans ahead.
  • Assist in developing metrics and key performance indicators ensuring optimal service delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least five years of professional experience with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, or building automation systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
  • Completion required for AFIT courses WENG 200, WENG 400, WMGT 231, and WMGT 417, offered online or live broadcast soon after hiring.
  • Preferred experience in repair and overhaul (R&O) roles.
  • Preference for candidates with background in US Government and military projects domestically and internationally.
  • Experience handling project documents, contracting, and construction processes.
  • Familiarity with design review, project mobilization, quality compliance, quality assurance, safety, and project controls.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2025 or later for creating accurate facility and infrastructure plans aligned to project requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • English reading and writing proficiency required.
  • Outstanding problem-solving ability and sound judgment.
  • Must be a US Navy service member eligible to obtain and hold a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Possession of a valid state or international driver's license and passport.
