Finance Associate Programme 2027 (General)

About the Role

The Finance Associate Programme (FAP) is the Accountant-General's Department's premier management associate initiative designed to cultivate talent for Public Sector Finance leadership. Participants undergo systematic rotations to establish a solid foundation in finance, operations, and policy development across the Whole-Of-Government landscape.

New graduates enrolling in the FAP (General) stream will receive comprehensive training and diverse exposure to various finance functions. This experience is intended to build essential skills and accelerate career growth, preparing associates for leadership roles early in their career journey.

The objective of the FAP (General) track is to nurture finance professionals capable of ascending to top C-Suite Finance and Governance positions within Public Service agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in developing financial systems and policies.
• Lead efforts to implement financial analytics government-wide.
• Drive business process transformations.
• Prepare financial budgets and reports.
• Manage Government liquidity and perform internal audits.
• Review internal control systems and assess government programs.
• Undertake rotations across different ministries and agencies to gain broad exposure.
• Contribute to projects across AGD to deepen understanding of public sector finance.

Candidate Profile

Functional and Technical Competencies

• A degree in Accountancy, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, or related disciplines from a tertiary institution.
• Open to fresh graduates without prior experience.
• Candidates lacking recognized accountancy or finance qualifications will be expected to attain relevant professional certifications during the programme.
