Brandt Group of Companies, honored as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies, delivers high-quality products globally. Due to growth, they seek dedicated full-time Fitters/Fabricators at their Mill Street facility in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Role Overview
The Fitters/Fabricators role involves creating custom prototypes, constructing jigs and fixtures for production, and assembling metal frameworks aligning with customer requirements. This position demands precision in interpreting engineering drawings, planning fabrication sequences, marking accurate reference points, and utilizing welding, fitting, and cutting techniques within a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze blueprints accurately.
- Organize task steps to optimize weldment fabrication.
- Mark out reference points and patterns on heavy metal based on specifications.
- Measure precisely using tape measures.
- Handle rigging, hoisting, and movement of materials within storage or workspace areas.
- Assemble and fit metal plates and sections into completed units or subassemblies employing tack welding, bolting, riveting, or other methods.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting tools.
- Install fabricated components into final products.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in heavy plate or structural steel fitting within a fabrication environment.
- Effective communication skills tailored to technical and non-technical audiences, including management levels.
- Willingness and ability to work shift schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Adaptability to evolving priorities and deadlines.
- Welding skills are advantageous.
- Trade certification or journeyperson credentials are beneficial.
