Since 2009, Michelberger Hotel & Restaurant has welcomed Berliners and their visitors, offering personalized experiences through diverse hotel rooms, event spaces, and public areas. Our restaurant, café, and bar serve high-quality regional products sourced from a trustworthy sustainable network of farmers, hunters, suppliers, and our own Michelberger Farm, a food forest located in Spreewald/Brandenburg.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests as the first point of contact on arrival and the last on departure, managing seamless check-in/out processes.
• Conduct daily shift handovers and follow shift checklists rigorously.
• Coordinate with cooperating departments regarding special guest needs during their stay.
• Handle payment transactions according to accounting standards and booking details.
• Serve as a contact person for guest requests and feedback.
• Perform concierge duties such as providing restaurant recommendations.
• Monitor all activities within your environment and ensure all work tools are available.
• Organize structural documentation and maintain cleanliness and order at the reception area and back office.
• Demonstrate initiative by collecting information on hotel events, internal structures, department interfaces, hotel history, and room details to better assist guests.
• Utilize all internal tools and resources to support guests effectively.
• Manage safety by handling the fire alarm control center and knowing emergency procedures and documentation.
• Cover night shifts if required as part of the front office team.
• Collaborate closely with the reservations department, including processing reservations during evenings and weekends, arrival checks, payment verification, customer profile maintenance, and ensuring prompt, proactive, and professional communication marketing the hotel's facilities and unique features.
• Expertly operate the internal reception IT system.

Candidate Profile

• Excellent communication skills paired with professionalism, friendliness, and respectfulness.
• Proactive approach with the ability to multitask and remain calm under stress.
• Fluent in German (minimum B2 level) and English; knowledge of a third language is beneficial.
• Quick learner with affinity for IT systems; experience with Visionline system preferred.
• Prior experience at a hotel reception or reservations department is mandatory.
