About the Role
The Development Support team plays a crucial role in supporting development efforts by conducting early testing phases, creating detailed documentation such as test cases and QA Confluence pages, and managing tasks that enable Core QA teams to focus on active in-game testing. This position acts as the primary liaison for development teams concerning feature health, testing progress, and ensuring that Core QA coverage adjustments are effectively communicated. Additionally, the role addresses design-related inquiries from Core QA and provides relevant feedback to QA Leads and developers regarding assigned feature segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with development teams to implement early test cycles and prepare comprehensive documentation.
- Deliver prompt feedback on feature status and test coverage to QA Leads and development teams.
- Serve as the main point of contact for Core QA, addressing testing and design-related questions.
- Coordinate testing requests and status updates with development teams.
Primary Testing Focus Areas
- Match Flow & Gameplay Systems: Ensure smooth session progression without blockers affecting victory or failure conditions. Validate timers, scoring, wave logic, round transitions, and objective flow.
- Combat & AI: Assess AI behaviors including pathfinding, combat responses, enemy spawn logic, ability usages, cooldown mechanics, and replication between host and client.
- Multiplayer Functionality: Test cooperative drop-in/drop-out mechanisms, synchronization across players, matchmaking, network reliability, and troubleshoot lag or desynchronization issues.
- Map & Environment: Inspect spawn areas, objectives, access points, collision detection, exploit identification, interactive objects, lighting, and material consistency.
- Performance & Stability: Detect issues related to memory consumption, frame rate drops, platform stability, audio/visual streaming, pop-ins, and synchronization anomalies.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in multiple development cycles, particularly focusing on Online PVP and PVE game modes.
- Profound understanding of testing disciplines covering match flow, combat/AI, multiplayer systems, map environments, and performance metrics.
- Skilled in documenting test briefs, conducting playtests, and accurately estimating testing scope and effort.
- Proficiency with bug tracking and test planning utilities such as Jira, DevTrack, and TestRail.
- Strong organizational abilities ensuring clear and reproducible documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration between QA, development, and production teams.
- Flexibility to adopt proprietary tools and workflows rapidly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Unreal Engine software.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and SharePoint platforms.
- Competence in teaching or mentoring diverse learners within a team.
Compensation
