Role overview
A growing divisional group operating across several trading businesses in the Midlands is looking for a seasoned General Manager for a permanent leadership position based in Westmeath. This is a senior role reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, with responsibility for shaping both the strategy and day-to-day performance of multiple businesses.
The successful candidate will help steer commercial expansion, strengthen operational performance, and bring consistency to the way the group works across its businesses.
Core responsibilities
- Direct and support a senior leadership group made up of Managing Directors across several businesses.
- Take ownership of profit and loss delivery, financial planning, capital allocation, and initiatives that support business growth.
- Champion the rollout of a single digital platform and bring consistency to operating methods, pricing structures, and service standards.
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other key stakeholders, while leading the group’s sales approach.
- Embed a culture focused on health and safety, quality, and high operational standards.
Candidate profile
This opportunity suits someone with deep senior leadership experience across multiple sites, ideally within technical services, engineering, or construction. The role calls for a strong track record in P&L responsibility, team development, and handling major B2B customer partnerships.
Experience with mergers and acquisitions integration and/or Lean or other operational excellence programmes will be highly valued.
