Role overview
This position leads operational excellence for a sizable technology and digital delivery environment. The role focuses on shaping operating strategy, governance, workforce optimization, and productivity improvements so the organization can scale effectively and deliver efficiently.
The selected leader will define and execute operating models, strengthen financial oversight, improve resource use, and introduce data-led processes that lift delivery performance and operational effectiveness. This role partners with senior technology and business leaders to create a high-performing, scalable, and future-ready delivery organization.
What you will do
- Own annual and quarterly planning activities, including budgeting, headcount forecasting, resource allocation, and cost control.
- Provide financial governance across technology portfolios to keep investment decisions aligned with business priorities and delivery goals.
- Track portfolio health, spend efficiency, and delivery results through structured reporting and governance.
- Create frameworks to assess and improve engineering and delivery productivity.
- Improve workforce capacity planning, utilization, and delivery efficiency across internal, offshore, and vendor resources.
- Build workforce planning approaches that support growth while preserving operational efficiency.
- Define, roll out, and continuously refine operating models, governance structures, and delivery standards.
- Standardize working practices across teams to improve consistency, quality, and execution.
- Promote Agile, DevSecOps, and modern software delivery methods to enhance speed, quality, and collaboration.
- Advance the use of automation, AI, and digital tools to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
- Develop executive dashboards, productivity measures, and performance reports to support data-driven decisions.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen operational excellence and scalable delivery capability.
- Set up governance mechanisms to monitor delivery performance, operational risk, and strategic initiatives.
- Share regular updates with senior leadership on financial performance, productivity, delivery health, and transformation progress.
- Work closely with Technology, Finance, HR, PMO, Procurement, and business teams to drive strategic programs and organizational improvements.
Experience and background
The role calls for 12 to 18+ years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or large enterprise technology settings. Suitable backgrounds include Operations Excellence, COO Office, Technology Strategy, Transformation, PMO, or Program Governance leadership roles.
Applicants should bring a strong record of managing budgets, headcount planning, financial governance, and resource optimization, along with experience leading large-scale technology, digital, or enterprise transformation programs. Experience creating operating models, governance frameworks, and workforce optimization strategies is also expected.
Skills and competencies
The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong execution capability and be able to turn plans into results. A solid understanding of Agile delivery, DevOps, technology operating models, and the software development lifecycle is important.
Hands-on experience with productivity frameworks, operational KPIs, executive dashboards, and management reporting is required, along with knowledge of automation, AI-enabled operations, analytics, and digital productivity tools. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, decision-making, and senior stakeholder management are essential.
