About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated designer to collaborate closely with our Trade and Retail clients, helping them craft practical, aesthetic, and creative interior environments. Your primary focus will be to drive sales across our Interiors range, including kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, wardrobes, and more. You will accompany clients through every stage, from the initial consultation to project finalization, all while displaying exceptional customer service and comprehensive product expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather detailed requirements from customers regarding the design or refurbishment of kitchen and bathroom spaces.
- Engage customers in discussions about materials, styles, colors, patterns, and room configurations, producing sketches and drawings tailored to their needs.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email to provide guidance and assistance.
- Identify value-adding solutions for both internal teams and external customers.
- Build strong relationships by delivering product support, technical advice, and interior design solutions to Trade and Retail customers.
- Deliver exceptional in-store customer experiences with a people-focused approach.
- Play a direct role in sales processes by preparing orders for dispatch and maintaining showroom merchandising and aisle organization.
- Offer support to the Showroom and Trade Support teams as needed.
About You
- Experience in designing interiors for kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, flooring, and wardrobes is highly beneficial.
- Proven customer service and sales experience, with the ability to communicate clearly under pressure and manage demanding situations.
- Professional, courteous, and adaptable when assisting clients.
- A high standard of personal presentation combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills to meet stringent deadlines and company objectives.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with Winflex and CAD or design software is advantageous.
Work Details
This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays on a roster basis. The role is based at our Paraparaumu branch on the Kapiti Coast.
