Overview

Job Purpose

The primary goal of this role is to deliver technical training and competency programs to ensure department personnel possess the necessary skills and capabilities to safely and effectively operate and maintain company facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-time diverse Oil and Gas operational experience, including at least 2 years in a training role.
  • Significant hands-on experience in the operation or maintenance of Oil & Gas facilities.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS SharePoint.
  • Advanced organizational and planning abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver technical training, simulator sessions, and competency programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary expertise to maintain and operate company assets and meet departmental competency standards.
  • Assess training and competency requirements to design targeted classroom and simulator-based troubleshooting scenarios that enhance the skills of Operations, Maintenance personnel, as well as National Trainees and Graduates.
  • Provide on-the-job training to various staff levels, facilitating effective knowledge and skill transfer between trainees, coaches, and field employees.
  • Evaluate Operations and Maintenance staff through procedure assessments covering theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and field practices.
  • Collaborate with line supervision to deploy onboarding programs, ensuring staff readiness to manage their assigned areas, equipment, and units.
  • Lead simulator training on Plant Models, enhance simulator materials, and develop tailored troubleshooting exercises.
  • Introduce measurable training metrics aligned with new project requirements to prepare staff for start-up of new facilities.
  • Ensure that components of Process Safety and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture are integrated effectively into all technical training programs.
  • Compile training reports for leadership and engage with line supervisors on outcomes to create personalized training plans addressing identified skill gaps.
