About the Role
The Interface Manager is charged with organizing, coordinating, and managing all technical and organizational interfaces among the Client, PMC team, EPC Contractors, licensors, vendors, and other third-party stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This position ensures smooth communication, timely resolution of interface challenges, and efficient coordination to meet project goals while adhering strictly to ADNOC standards and the project's specific requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a project-specific Interface Management Plan aligned with client and project needs.
- Identify, document, track, and close all project interfaces—internal and external—through an Interface Register.
- Coordinate interfaces across FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations teams.
- Serve as the main point of contact for interface matters between clients, PMC, EPC Contractors, licensors, vendors, and related stakeholders.
- Lead and facilitate regular interface coordination meetings ensuring prompt follow-up on action points.
- Ensure engineering outputs from various disciplines are synchronized to prevent conflicts and delays.
- Oversee multidisciplinary technical reviews such as constructability, HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, and other design workshops focused on interface topics.
- Assess interface-related risks and collaborate with project management and engineering teams to develop mitigation plans.
- Assist project planning efforts by pinpointing interface-based schedule risks and organizing mitigation strategies.
- Govern interface changes utilizing the approved Management of Change (MOC) procedure.
- Manage brownfield interface and tie-in activities with operational facilities ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Coordinate with project controls to track interface milestones and their timely execution.
- Review and audit EPC contractor interface management processes to ensure compliance with project expectations.
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary coordination among Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, and HSE teams.
- Prepare and present interface status updates, KPI dashboards, and reports for project leadership and client review.
- Ensure all operations comply with ADNOC standards, international engineering codes, project specifications, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, or allied Engineering disciplines.
- Master's degree or certifications in Project Management are beneficial; PMP certification preferred.
- Minimum 15 years' experience working on Oil & Gas projects.
- At least 10 years of experience within PMC, FEED, Detailed Engineering, and EPC project environments.
- Proven track record working on ADNOC projects is mandatory.
- In-depth experience managing interfaces in Gas Processing Plants, Gas Gathering Systems, or Upstream Oil & Gas facilities.
- Demonstrated ability in coordinating diverse EPC contractors and engineering disciplines on large-scale initiatives.
- Experience with brownfield modifications, tie-ins, and managing operational interfaces is highly valued.
