Overview
This role is for an IT Security Analyst based in Columbia, SC, supporting cybersecurity and data protection functions within an agency. The position is a 12-month W2 contract with hybrid work arrangements, requiring local candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise cybersecurity operations including monitoring threats, responding to incidents, and conducting risk assessments.
- Manage data protection technologies such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Insider Risk Management tools, and Data Security Posture Management for AI systems.
- Perform detailed analysis and triaging of security alerts concerning data, monitoring access and movement of sensitive information.
- Document security findings and escalate incidents based on established protocols.
- Collaborate closely with both technical teams and nontechnical stakeholders to resolve security concerns.
- Conduct auditing, vendor security reviews, and manage device patching.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Mandatory certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
- Minimum three years experience in supporting enterprise cybersecurity including threat monitoring, incident response, and risk analysis.
- Hands-on experience over three years with data protection tools including DLP, insider risk management, and AI data security management.
- Proven skills in analyzing security alerts, handling sensitive data access tracking, and incident documentation.
- Experience working with AI-driven security tools and DSPM platforms for AI systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft certifications such as SC100, SC200, CEH, or Associate level CISSP is needed.
- Familiarity with Azure security, identity and access controls, conditional access policies, and security automation or scripting.
