Job Description

The Janitor is responsible for comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of designated areas inside specific buildings or across multiple client locations. The exact duties may vary, requiring flexibility to meet each client's specific requirements.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Working hours: Monday through Sunday, 6 AM to 11 AM
• Pay rate: $12 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all types of floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
• Adhere strictly to procedures for handling chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage
• Clean and supervise upkeep of restrooms, conference rooms, hallways, and entryways
• Dispose of trash properly, including utilizing compactors for designated materials
• Wash windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using correct cleaning agents and tools
• Perform spot cleaning of carpets and assist with carpet extraction and shampooing
• Restock paper and sanitary supplies as needed
• Follow a predetermined housekeeping schedule
• Occasionally operate heavy cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers
• Execute additional tasks as assigned to fulfill the scope of work or comply with customer needs

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months of experience in a janitorial role
• On-the-job training will be provided
• Strong attention to detail
• Capability to understand and follow instructions effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience
• Knowledge of custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
• Understanding of floor care methods including buffing and waxing
• Experience with industrial cleaning or facility maintenance
