The firm specializes in bookkeeping, fractional Controller and CFO services, and sell-side M&A advisory to help clients improve financial operations and maximize company value. Role Overview
This full-time remote Junior Accountant position involves assisting with daily bookkeeping responsibilities such as transaction recording, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate general ledgers for client companies. The role includes preparing journal entries, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and aiding senior team members with financial reporting and analysis. Additionally, it requires organizing financial documents and ensuring adherence to firm policies and relevant accounting standards. The Junior Accountant will collaborate closely with Controllers and CFOs to support client projects and help improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Record financial transactions accurately and maintain general ledgers.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts regularly.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Support financial reporting and analysis efforts led by senior staff.
- Organize and manage financial documentation in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Work in close cooperation with Controllers and CFOs on client engagements.
- Contribute to the enhancement of internal financial processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid foundational accounting knowledge including ledger maintenance, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms, along with strong Excel capabilities for spreadsheets and basic data analysis.
- Capability to prepare and review basic financial statements and support month-end closing tasks.
- Good understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for collaborating with internal teams and clients professionally.
- Strong organizational abilities with aptitude for managing multiple client tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Quick learning ability in a dynamic advisory setting and adaptability to changing client requirements and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Interest in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, or advisory roles; prior internship or experience in public or corporate accounting is advantageous.
