Junior Data Scientist

Overview

Human Data Associates is a specialized start-up focused on delivering advanced online marketing intelligence through big data analytics. We seek a Junior Data Scientist to join our Amsterdam-based team and contribute to automating complex marketing insights using machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large behavioral datasets that exceed the capacity of single-machine memory.
• Perform feature selection, and develop and fine-tune classifiers utilizing machine learning algorithms.
• Create statistical models to derive advanced marketing insights and deploy them into production environments.
• Support the design and practical implementation of prototype systems.
• Broaden the spectrum of analytical methods applied in projects.
• Develop data acquisition tools using Java, scripting languages, and other technologies.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a relevant Master's or PhD degree in fields such as computer science, AI, mathematics, astrophysics, or cognitive neuroscience.
• Possesses 0 to 3 years of professional experience.
• Demonstrates strong expertise in statistics, probability, and machine learning.
• Proficient in programming languages including R, Python, C++, and/or Java.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL is expected.
• Familiarity with big data and ML platforms like EMR, Spark, Flink, H2O, and TensorFlow is advantageous.
• Skills in data visualization are highly preferred.
• Detail-oriented, creative, and able to take comprehensive responsibility for tasks.
• Self-motivated learner eager to explore new technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Curious mindset coupled with a bias towards proactive action.
• A keen ability to prioritize key elements and simplify complex problems.
