Laboratory Assistant

Job Overview

A Semi State Body located in Dublin is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join their team and provide support with various laboratory and workshop operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning and washing laboratory, workshop, and kitchen instruments, equipment, and glassware thoroughly.
• Supporting technical staff by organizing, preparing, and setting up practical class sessions.
• Participating in safety audits across all operational areas in collaboration with other staff members.
• Returning tools and unused materials to their designated storage areas and reporting misplaced, damaged, or replacement-needed items.
• Helping safely dispose of used materials, including biological, chemical, toxic, hazardous, or volatile substances.
• Securing and storing laboratory, workshop, kitchen equipment, and consumables appropriately.
• Managing stock control for equipment and clearing out materials as necessary, including clerical and archival duties related to sales of class goods when relevant.
• Receiving deliveries of equipment and consumable materials and assisting with their proper storage.
• Helping technical staff prepare laboratories, workshops, or kitchens for classes or demonstrations.
• Ensuring all tools and materials are ready and available for use.
• Maintaining cleanliness, tidiness, and proper order in workshops, laboratories, kitchens, and adjacent areas.
