Overview

The Lifelong Learning Coordinator fosters ongoing intellectual engagement among Brown University alumni through the Office of Alumni Relations' Lifelong Learning initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Director, this role is pivotal in launching and managing the "Speakers Bureau," the Lifelong Learning Calendar, Digest, and Media Bank—key features that support alumni in intellectual exploration. The Coordinator builds and manages a comprehensive database of speakers who engage via onsite, online, and campus events prioritizing topics of current interest to the University.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Speakers Bureau and related Lifelong Learning platforms such as the Calendar, Digest, and Media Bank.
  • Coordinate programming and collaborative efforts with teams managing generational programming, alumni clubs, affinity and shared-interest groups, events, and faculty engagement.
  • Support the Brown Travelers program by managing communications and logistics to provide enriching alumni travel experiences with faculty hosts and travel partners.
  • Handle administrative and information technology tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least three years' experience in related areas such as development, nonprofit work, event planning, or administrative roles.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong abilities in planning, problem-solving, project management, and time management.
  • Capability to independently manage tasks as well as collaborate within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Eventbrite, Zoom, and other virtual event platforms; rapid adaptability to new technologies.
