About the Role

Join Star Construction LLC as a Locator, where you will be responsible for marking underground utilities using flags and paint, ensuring project safety and efficiency. This position supports critical excavation projects by accurately identifying utility locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate detection tools to identify and mark underground utilities, seeking advice from experienced colleagues as needed
• Interpret utility maps to accurately locate underground infrastructure
• Keep detailed records of utility locates
• Respond promptly and courteously to excavation notices
• Maintain effective communication with excavators, utility representatives, and internal team members
• Perform light digging with a shovel when necessary
• Be available for overtime, travel, and on-call or after-hours duties as required
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Hold a valid non-provisional state driver's license with a clean driving record

Physical Demands

• Regularly work independently in remote locations performing activities such as lifting up to 55 pounds, bending, stooping, standing, walking, using fine hand motions, operating vehicles, and working with arms raised above shoulder height
• Occasionally use portable ladders, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs

Location

Primary work site located in Cottendale, Alabama.
