Your Impact and Responsibilities
As a consultant in the two-year Operations Excellence Program (OEP), you will participate actively in client projects involving problem identification, hypothesis creation, data analysis, and turning findings into actionable recommendations. The program involves practical, on-the-job coaching combined with structured capability-building sessions. You will engage in multidisciplinary client engagements across various industries and operations domains to help organizations attain operational excellence. You will attend focused trainings covering operations excellence themes and specializing in one of six areas, including manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, supply chain management, or capital excellence. Successful completion of the program positions you as a specialist within McKinsey's global operational excellence community, based out of the Singapore office.
Qualifications and Skills
- A university degree in a technical or business field with strong academic records.
- Minimum of two years professional experience within operations areas such as capital productivity, manufacturing, product development, purchasing, service operations, or supply chain management.
- Preferred background in energy, mining, and metals industries.
- Experience in data analytics, automation, and optimization.
- Hands-on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies including Toyota Production System, kaizen, TPM, JIT, and SMED.
- A strong passion for achieving operational excellence and a proven analytical aptitude.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in workplace or extracurricular settings.
- Effective collaboration skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
