Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead pre-maintenance meetings to review upcoming work, pinpoint issues, and assess resource needs.
- Develop and maintain schedules for all planned maintenance activities, incorporating urgent and ad hoc tasks with prioritization and creation of necessary work requests.
- Assign specific tasks to appropriate resources and liaise with department heads to secure required personnel.
- Support maintenance operations during planned periods by aiding in problem resolution, prioritization of tasks, and efficient use of resources.
- Reschedule any unfinished tasks to future maintenance periods and ensure accurate recording in maintenance systems.
- Lead post-maintenance reviews to document challenges faced, opportunities uncovered, and lessons learned.
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques to resolve issues arising during routine and planned maintenance, escalating complex issues to engineers or calling additional support when necessary.
- Assist team members with troubleshooting upon request and participate as a functional expert in Failure and Fault Analysis (FFA).
- Ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements within designated timeframes.
- Meet maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as established by the Technical Service Manager.
- Develop and manage weekly and annual maintenance budgets aligning with ongoing tasks, maintaining control over budget allocation.
- Oversee completion of maintenance, cleaning days, and annual shutdown schedules.
- Ensure asset care work is completed following established standards and that spare parts are available timely and within budget.
- Identify training needs for machine specialists and shift teams and provide suitable recommendations.
- Use SAP maintenance data analysis to detect recurring issues and suggest improvements to asset care programs.
- Coordinate allocation of process artisans and machine specialists during maintenance and shutdown periods.
- Participate as a subject matter expert in asset care problem-solving activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma (N6) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Trade-tested in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in production engineering.
- At least 2 years working as a machine specialist in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is advantageous.
- Proficient with SAP maintenance systems.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- Well-grounded understanding of maintenance procedures and practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of packaging plant machinery and operational processes.
- Assertive leadership qualities and effective personnel management skills.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
