Role overview

Maharishi is hiring a seasoned Production Manager to oversee production from start to finish, including global sourcing, supplier management, and delivery across collections and collaborations. This is a practical, hands-on position that calls for strong organisation, commercial judgement, and close coordination with the Managing Director and teams across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Preserve and strengthen long-standing relationships with factories, suppliers, and mills while improving margins and tightening the critical path to achieve better delivery performance.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers, regularly assess their capabilities to support style allocation, and introduce quality control and quality assurance processes where needed.
  • Interpret design intent and cost requirements, then communicate those clearly to external vendors.
  • Work closely with Merchandising, Design, Production, Garment Technology, and Buying so that all functions are represented in the final outputs.
  • Ensure collection handovers for sampling happen on time and that internal stakeholder feedback is captured and actioned.
  • Continue developing trims, fabrics, finishes, and construction techniques, while managing the fabric and trim library with future reuse of excess stock in mind.
  • Forecast costs accurately, negotiate with suppliers, and stay within budgets without compromising quality.
  • Estimate fabric consumption to support early purchasing of fabrics and trims from suppliers across the UK, EU, and Far East.
  • Plan purchase order placement for raw materials and finished products to reduce pressure on cash flow and warehouse capacity.
  • Prepare forward-looking cash flow plans and organise invoice schedules for weekly payments.
  • Build, circulate, and track the critical path while managing internal and external deadlines that affect production and sampling.
  • Coordinate fabric and trim deliveries to factories so the right materials arrive on time and cost-effectively.
  • Oversee output from the GPS tailor shop and support the production team with tasks completed there.
  • Partner with the collaborations team to plan development and production timelines with manufacturing partners.
  • Maintain department administration in Netsuite, including items, BOMs, and purchase orders.
  • Produce weekly and seasonal reports for both internal and external use, keep SOPs updated, and run weekly cross-functional meetings.
  • Supervise output from the internal tailor shop and support the production team with tailor-delivered tasks.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in production within the fashion sector.
  • Strong administrative capability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Prior experience with ERP platforms, especially NetSuite, is preferred.
  • A confident, clear, and collaborative communication style.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and sound critical thinking.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, specifications, and pattern work is an advantage.
  • Comfort speaking and reporting directly to senior leadership, including the Managing Director.

Additional information

This position sits directly under the Managing Director and requires regular reporting at senior level. The role also involves ongoing coordination with multiple internal departments and external production partners.
