About GIB® Plasterboard and Role Overview

GIB® Plasterboard, part of Fletcher Building and a recognized name in New Zealand's construction sector, has been contributing to healthier and more sustainable homes for nearly a century. Operating two manufacturing facilities in Tauranga and Christchurch, alongside several distribution centers nationwide, GIB® is seeking dependable, practical, and safety-focused Production Operators for its Tauriko manufacturing plant. This facility emphasizes teamwork, high safety standards, and operates high-volume, automated production lines.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate machinery in various production zones such as board processing, jointing, and finishing.
Monitor automated systems and respond promptly to alerts or process variations.
Maintain material supply on production lines to ensure continuous output.
Perform quality control assessments and product testing to uphold strict manufacturing standards.
Operate forklifts and other plant machinery safely and effectively.

Working Hours

The position follows a rotating shift schedule with three to four 12-hour shifts during Monday to Friday, including day and night shifts. Occasional Saturday shifts may be needed, with Sundays always off. Shift schedules are planned proactively and shared fairly among the team.

Candidate Profile

Previous experience in manufacturing, processing, or technical operations; trade qualifications are also considered.
Strong mechanical skills with confidence in working with machinery and control systems.
Good numerical capabilities and keen attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and a cooperative approach to team-based work.
Dedicated to health, safety, and quality standards.
Preferably holds a forklift license and capable of handling equipment and products weighing up to 25kg safely.
