About the Role

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee our Sealing operations at Stratford, Ontario location. The role offers a competitive salary ranging from $72,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits and pension plan including company matching contributions. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all team members, promoting it as the highest priority.
  • Provide training to staff on job functions, safety protocols, and company policies, enforcing these standards and applying disciplinary measures when warranted.
  • Manage hourly timekeeping using Kronos, oversee scrap reporting via GDOX, and prepare daily and shift supervisor reports.
  • Participate in weekly production planning meetings to align operations.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels while monitoring records of employee attendance, overtime, and downtime through manual or electronic systems.
  • Generate and sustain detailed reports concerning workload progress, material consumption, production rates, and other relevant production data.
  • Reduce scrap material losses by overseeing scrap levels and ensuring compliance with scrap reporting processes.
  • Foster positive relationships with employees and union representatives.
  • Keep equipment in working order and coordinate timely repairs or replacements addressing production or safety concerns.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication channels within and across departments.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings to reinforce workplace safety.
  • Support production start-up activities and coach operators on proper changeover procedures.
  • Oversee quality inspections during production and implement measures to address quality issues.
  • Alert operators, engineering, and quality control teams to quality concerns and review rejected materials collaboratively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work across all three shifts.
