Project Manager

About the Role

The Transformation and Delivery Practice at ASB is dedicated to guiding and executing the bank’s strategic change initiatives. With a team of over 400 experts in Business Analysis, Change Management, Project Management, and related fields, this practice collaborates internally to transform strategy into action, enhance work processes, and generate improved results for customers and employees.

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of projects focused on delivering valuable business results across the organisation. You will engage with various stakeholders, delivery groups, and business partners to convert strategic goals into tangible outcomes, while effectively managing risks, dependencies, and the impacts of change. Applying strong planning, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, you will support delivery teams in achieving objectives more efficiently and safely, in line with the ASB Delivery Framework and its governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring agreed-upon business benefits are delivered on time, within scope, budget, quality, and risk parameters.
• Develop and sustain comprehensive delivery plans, roadmaps, budgets, governance frameworks, and reporting mechanisms that provide transparency and aid decision-making.
• Establish and nurture dependable partnerships with business units, delivery entities, suppliers, and stakeholders to foster alignment, manage expectations, and drive successful results.
• Handle complex situations by proactively identifying and addressing risks, issues, dependencies, and trade-offs to enable timely decisions and maintain project momentum.
• Collaborate with business and change teams to embed new operational methods, facilitate adoption, and secure realisation of intended benefits.
• Enhance delivery capabilities by applying the ASB Delivery Framework and sharing knowledge, lessons learned, and practical insights within the delivery community.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects within complex organisational settings.
• Strong expertise in planning, governance, delivery oversight, and risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with proven ability to develop trusted relationships and influence at all organisational levels.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating resources effectively to achieve goals.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills capable of navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or traditional project delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of programme management, benefits realisation, change management, and supplier/third-party oversight is desirable.
