Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Project Manager serves as the primary accountable leader overseeing high-priority industrial AI projects from contract inception through deployment and value realization. Responsibilities include ensuring projects align with customer strategic goals and yield tangible business outcomes. Ownership extends to managing all aspects of project delivery including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder communication.
- Lead project delivery end-to-end, maintaining alignment with strategic priorities and business KPIs.
- Translate project objectives into measurable performance indicators and conduct Value Realization Workshops to benchmark and assess impact.
- Develop comprehensive project plans addressing scope, timelines, resources, budgets, risks, and quality metrics.
- Manage complex integration of OT/IT data systems using agile methodologies and maintain continuous communication with stakeholders.
- Ensure steady project reporting and executive-level updates emphasizing operational excellence, safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.
- Coordinate with Account Executives, Customer Business Executives, and other key stakeholders on project status, risks, and financial health.
- Collaborate with Product teams to guarantee delivery of committed product capabilities and escalate any discrepancies through governance channels to preserve contracts and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee project financials including bookings, revenue recognition, cost management, margin analysis, and forecasting.
- Serve as the main client contact during execution, managing governance, steering committee interactions, and clear executive communications.
- Maintain customer satisfaction initiatives, vendor partner relationships, and essential process documentation.
- Implement change management activities such as user training and adoption support in partnership with Customer Business Executives.
- Facilitate seamless communication among clients and internal teams (Engineering, Product, Customer Success) handling expectations, risks, and issue resolution.
- Identify potential for expansion opportunities by understanding customer challenges and coordinating internally.
- Apply Cognite PMO methodologies and contribute to ongoing process improvements and lessons learned.

- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout project lifecycles through proactive engagement and value delivery.
- Consistently achieve on-time, within-budget delivery while managing complex industrial system integrations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or similar discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ project management experience in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software, preferably with complex industrial or enterprise IT/AI projects.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Engineers, and Solution Architects.
- Fluency in English and German languages.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for client engagements.
- Strong familiarity with the SaaS implementation lifecycle, including onboarding, training, and change management.
- Expertise in industrial sectors such as Energy, Manufacturing, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, Utilities, Power, and Renewables.
- Solid financial acumen for tracking project revenues, margins, and forecasts.
- Practical knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies plus PMO frameworks (PMP or PRINCE2) to enhance delivery and risk management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), industrial IoT, data platforms, or related infrastructure.
- Experience with data engineering, analytics, AI, or machine learning implementations is considered advantageous.
