Quality Assessor

Position Overview

Join Silver Fern Farms as a Quality Assessor at our Pacific site in Hastings, where you will play a vital role in upholding the highest levels of product quality and regulatory compliance. You will provide essential support to our processing teams by applying and overseeing quality systems that align with customer and statutory standards. This position is integral to ensuring the delivery of premium food products and operates on day shifts within both Primary and Secondary Butchery departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and audits to confirm adherence to company, customer, and legal quality standards.
• Assist in the implementation and upkeep of quality management systems throughout production zones.
• Track and analyze product and process metrics to identify areas for enhancement.
• Work closely with Production and Technical teams to maintain consistent quality practices.
• Deliver feedback, coaching, and encouragement to foster a culture focused on quality excellence.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Process Control, preferably within the food manufacturing sector.
• Qualifications in Biological Sciences or Food Technology are advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong documentation capabilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
• A proactive approach with problem-solving skills balancing production demands and quality requirements.
• Comfortable using data analysis and quality systems for informed decision-making.

Additional Information

This role operates day shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with start times slightly earlier than general team members. You will become part of an experienced team proud of their workmanship and commitment to quality.
