Overview
The quality control engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials and concrete at plant locations. Working within the highly competitive Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) industry, this role requires maintaining superior product standards and service excellence to support profitable and efficient plant operations as infrastructure demands increase.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct demonstrations of VAC products to clients to explain their functionalities and benefits.
- Address and resolve daily customer complaints regarding issues such as cracks, slump control, pumping difficulties, and cube failures; implement corrective and preventive measures based on site feedback.
- Maintain the quality control laboratories, ensuring they are well equipped, clean, and display relevant BIS codes appropriately.
- Keep detailed quality records in the Labsys system as per QCI and ISO standards, including calibration logs for all testing equipment.
- Test raw material quality rigorously and reject supplies that fail to meet required standards.
- Coordinate with third-party labs for cube testing when necessary, and conduct in-house testing of concrete cubes to verify adherence to quality benchmarks.
- Perform trials for performance and dosage levels of various admixtures and special materials to ensure compliance with quality parameters.
- Monitor production processes to ensure concrete workability and cohesiveness both at the plant and pouring sites.
- Implement moisture adjustments during production to maintain product consistency.
- Ensure the correct dosage of admixtures is administered at batching plants during manufacturing.
