Position Overview

The Research Program Specialist leads and supports the program management team’s activities. This role collaborates closely with OneR network and site stakeholders, including site physician leaders, investigators, corporate personnel, and site research teams to ensure effective oversight and communication of research menus at both site and network levels. The specialist also partners with external stakeholders to provide education on OneR processes and plays a fundamental role in reviewing new study proposals scientifically at network and site scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the precise creation, upkeep, and distribution of internal research menu management tools covering studies in start-up and active enrollment by detailed criteria such as disease type, molecular markers, treatment setting, and therapy lines.
  • Track enrollment data by site and study to inform decision-making and performance reports at site and network levels.
  • Promote the OneR research menu and achievements through external channels including websites, presentations, and communications targeted at sponsors, CROs, and partners.
  • Develop and implement awareness tools such as videos and newsletters to enhance research menu visibility within the sites and network.
  • Respond to inquiries from physicians and research leaders concerning research menu offerings and study availability.
  • Coordinate receipt, curation, and dissemination of new study information for scientific review meetings, including documentation and presentations.
  • Conduct analyses to identify menu gaps and competing trials within site menus.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating meetings to discuss research menu statuses, including study start-ups and enrollment progress.
  • Address external stakeholder questions regarding OneR procedures and site participation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, study coordinators, and principal investigators on program management functions.
  • Maintain awareness of advancements in oncology research, clinical trial methods, and relevant therapeutics to refine menu management effectiveness.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including site leadership and external partners such as pharma and CROs.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of menu management tools and related communications both internally and externally.
  • Identify and apply process improvements to enhance menu quality, site performance, and patient trial access.
  • Undertake any additional duties that promote OneOncology’s mission to improve cancer patient lives.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical research, study coordination, or oncology nursing is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Master’s, RN, NP) or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Expert proficiency in formatting and graphic design.
  • Proven experience leading the development of menu management tools and deep understanding of their complexity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of oncology including approved therapies, investigational mechanisms, patient populations, and operational aspects of therapeutic areas like IECT and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physician leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to meet multiple deadlines independently and in teams.
  • High emotional intelligence in working with diverse expert groups.
