Role Contributions

We invite driven, innovative scientists to join our team, contributing expertise to study the fundamental biology of cellular rejuvenation across basic science, pre-clinical, and clinical projects. The role involves performing pioneering research, managing collaborative multidisciplinary projects, and advancing knowledge on cell programming mechanisms for health restoration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced and novel scientific research in cell biology.
• Coordinate and support cooperative internal and external projects to expedite key research.
• Explore mechanistic insights into cell health and rejuvenation programming.
• Mentor graduate students to support their scientific development.
• Design and implement project-specific experimental plans and procedures.
• Assist principal investigators in training laboratory staff, including scientists and technicians.
• Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of research findings.
• Collaborate closely with principal investigators on research initiatives.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• PhD degree with a strong track record of impactful publications demonstrating professional achievement.
• Proficient computer skills, especially in Google applications, Excel, and PowerPoint for effective document creation and project management.
• Excellent professional writing and presentation abilities tailored for diverse audiences from senior management to entry-level staff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for identifying research challenges and innovating solutions.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues, lab members, faculty, external agencies, and community partners.
• Proven high productivity with an ability to deliver quality work within deadlines.
• Effective organizational skills and capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy in work output.
• Adaptability to thrive in dynamic team environments and handle ambiguity.

Preferred Expertise

• Background in epigenetics and epigenetic modifications.
• Experience with metabolism studies, including metabolomics and metabolic processes in adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and liver.
• Stem cell biology knowledge with familiarity in animal models considered an advantage.
• Single-cell analysis techniques applied to animal tissues.
• Expertise in screening platforms such as small molecules, CRISPR/Cas systems, and RNAi methodologies.
• Skills in gene delivery technologies with an emphasis on improving adeno-associated virus (AAV) delivery efficiency.
• Understanding of tissue interactions and cross-talk.
• Experience working with animal disease models.

Compensation

• Scientist I: $116,450 to $157,550 annually
• Scientist II: $137,000 to $184,800 annually
• Senior Scientist I: $154,000 to $204,000 annually
• Senior Scientist II: $170,000 to $247,000 annually

Salaries may vary depending on experience, skills, and location within San Diego, CA.
