Software Engineer - Growth and Communications, Google Pay

Overview

Join Google as a Software Engineer working within Google Pay's Growth and Communications team based in Singapore. This role entails building scalable and reliable systems that engage hundreds of millions of users, focusing on high-volume user acquisition platforms and communication infrastructures. The team drives key products such as referral and reward engines and builds backend services capable of supporting large-scale experiments and financial transaction technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features across mobile, web, and backend platforms with seamless RPC integration and excellent UI quality.
• Lead the architecture of backend services and data pipelines aimed at enabling large-scale growth experiments.
• Produce lasting and reliable features by developing comprehensive monitoring, alerting mechanisms, and automated performance tracking systems.
• Enhance engineering standards by engaging in design reviews, raising code quality, and fostering productive technical dialogues within the team.
• Utilize generative AI tools and agentic coding workflows to speed up the development lifecycle, promoting high standards for AI-assisted engineering productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• At least 2 years of software programming experience in C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Familiarity with data structures and algorithms with a minimum of 2 years experience preferred.
• Experience in mobile app, web, full-stack, or backend development is advantageous.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers and UX teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Background in building scalable systems serving millions of global users.
• Experience with DevAI for agentic coding and boosting productivity is desirable.
