Role Summary

We have an immediate vacancy for a Software Test Automation Engineer based in Bangalore, India, working onsite. The ideal candidate will possess 5-6 years of pertinent experience in software testing with a focus on both manual and automation testing for web and mobile applications, leveraging tools such as Playwright or Selenium.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts applicable to web and mobile platforms.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing to ensure software quality.
• Log, track, and manage defects using platforms like Azure DevOps.
• Participate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand new features and resolve defects efficiently.
• Communicate timely updates regarding testing status and potential risks.
• Promote early testing approaches and quality engineering methodologies within the team.
• Create and optimize automation scripts using Selenium or Playwright ensuring broad coverage across UI and backend layers.
• Execute automation on embedded target devices and support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using Git Actions alongside DevOps teams.
• Analyze failures of test scripts within CI/CD pipelines and help resolve them.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or relevant field.
• Between 5 to 6 years of professional experience in software test automation and manual testing, with total experience under 7 years.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Squish, and API/UI testing frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript to develop and maintain automation scripts.
• Experience running automated tests on embedded devices and cross-platform testing on Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS environments.
• Excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving aptitude.

Desirable Qualifications

• Understanding of hardware components like signal generators and attenuators and ability to interpret signal delay and amplitude data for testing purposes.
• Knowledge of message queuing systems to support scalable test setups.
• Familiarity with ultrasound or medical imaging technologies particularly for test automation.
• Insight into Non-Destructive Testing methodologies.
