Sporting Data Analyst - UWEP Internship Fall 2026

Role Overview

The United Soccer League (USL) offers a Sporting Data Analyst internship through the USL Work Experience Program (UWEP) for Fall 2026. This position is a remote internship designed specifically for college credit. The selected intern will contribute to league-wide sporting data management and provide analytical support across various USL competitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and regularly update sporting data relevant to league activities.
• Design and develop Tableau dashboards to monitor performance metrics for teams and players.
• Automate data extraction processes from third-party platforms for timely insights.
• Interpret performance statistics to produce actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Analyze match data integrated with the league's partnerships with Stats Perform and Spiideo.
• Collaborate with the Technology and Data Strategy team to enhance data initiatives.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in a related discipline and eligible to obtain college credit through this internship.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiar with event-level sports performance data sources, such as Opta or Hudl.
• Experience with Tableau and knowledge of SQL or other programming languages.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work effectively within a team setting.

Additional Information

This internship is unpaid and solely for academic credit within the USL Work Experience Program. The role is fully remote with the parent organization headquartered in Tampa, FL.
