Staff Verification Engineer

Overview

onsemi’s Power Management Division is seeking a Staff Verification Engineer proficient in both top-level and block-level verification of integrated circuits utilizing SystemVerilog, UVM, and assertion-based verification techniques. This position involves collaborating with global teams to extract hardware and firmware design details from specifications and developing thorough verification plans aimed at achieving high functional and code coverage goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop verification test plans at both top-level and block-level based on power-management IC specifications.
• Strive to maximize code and functional coverage to ensure quality standards are met.
• Encourage innovation in verification processes and tools.
• Ensure comprehensive verification coverage across all IC components, encompassing hardware and software aspects.
• Investigate and troubleshoot failures, pinpoint root causes, and recommend corrective measures.
• Lead project activities from initial planning through to mass production, emphasizing pre-silicon performance optimization.
• Maintain effective written and verbal communication with development teams regarding reviews, deliverables, updates, and any issues.

Qualifications

• BSEE or MSEE degree or equivalent with at least 5 to 6 years of pertinent experience.
• Strong command of UVM methodology.
• Familiarity with standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools.
• Proven ability to debug complex integrated circuit designs.
• Experience with Assertion-Based Verification using PSL and SVA.
• Knowledge of formal verification methodologies for functional coverage analysis.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as TCL, CSH, and Python.
• Understanding of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit architectures and integration requirements.
• Motivated, self-guided, and effective in collaborating with distributed teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with co-verification methodologies.
• Familiarity with project management tools like Jama and Jira.
• Knowledge of multiphase switching regulators.
• Additional expertise in analog and mixed-signal IC architectures and integration.
