Store Manager

About the role

Skechers is seeking a Store Manager to take charge of its Lyall Bay store in Wellington. This is a hands-on retail leadership position focused on building a strong team culture, improving engagement, and delivering store growth in a fast-moving environment.

The brand is part of a global footwear company recognized for comfortable, trend-led footwear and a strong customer experience. In this role, you will oversee everyday store activity, guide the team, and help drive commercial success.

What you'll do

• Lead, support, and motivate the team so sales goals and performance targets are consistently achieved.
• Create a high-performing environment through coaching, training, and ongoing staff development.
• Manage day-to-day store functions, including inventory, visual merchandising, and wage control.
• Review store results, spot opportunities to improve, and help deliver strong commercial outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with workplace health, safety, and operational requirements.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor future retail leaders within the team.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated background as a retail manager in a busy, high-volume store environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a clear focus on results and team performance.
• Excellent communication abilities and experience developing people.
• Genuine interest in customer experience, brand presentation, and business performance.
• Proven ability to meet or surpass sales and profit objectives.
