About the Role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences that distinguish Waitrose beyond competitors. Your enthusiasm for providing partner-led service and passion for food will help cultivate customer trust and loyalty, encouraging repeat visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Replenish stock to ensure shelves are consistently full and products are correctly positioned for customer convenience.
- Prepare online customer orders to be ready for delivery drivers, facilitating home delivery service.
- Manage product wastage by adhering to due diligence procedures and applying markdowns on items approaching their expiry dates.
- Collaborate with the wider store team to assist with activities such as checkout support, Click & Collect management, and fulfilling immediate customer requests.
- Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing general shopkeeping duties.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong communication abilities to work efficiently both within a team and with customers.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous.
- Current knowledge and keen interest in food and beverage trends.
