The Opportunity

This role is for a Teacher in Metal Fabrication at the Toowoomba Campus. It offers a chance to pass on extensive industry knowledge to students in classroom and other learning environments, helping shape the next generation of skilled professionals.

The position is a fixed-term full-time appointment through 30 June 2027, unless otherwise decided, and reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must hold MEM31925 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or an equivalent trade qualification, together with the following:

  • current industry experience relevant to the training and assessment work
  • up-to-date knowledge and practical capability in vocational training and learning
  • evidence of ongoing professional development in vocational training, learning, assessment, and competency-based training and assessment
  • a current Queensland driver’s licence
  • a current Blue Card or Exemption Card, or the ability to obtain one before starting, in line with the Working with Children Check Act 2000

In addition, candidates must hold one of these training and assessment qualifications:

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a later equivalent
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
  • TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development
  • an approved higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education
