Role Overview

This position, specifically suited for candidates with experience in the U.S. Life and Annuity insurance domain, involves the detailed documentation of functional and technical needs as well as acceptance criteria for user stories. The role requires crafting various requirement artifacts such as process flows, UI designs, business rules, and data mapping diagrams. Precision and innovation are essential traits for the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate actively in daily scrum meetings and sprint ceremonies.
• Define feature scopes during solution design workshops.
• Collaborate directly with clients to gather system data mapping requirements.
• Engage with customers to elicit, structure, and clarify their business needs.
• Detect and communicate gaps between Sureify’s product capabilities and customer demands.
• Work alongside subject matter experts to expand functional specifications that support development and testing phases.
• Address queries from delivery and development teams promptly to ensure clarity on requirements.
• Resolve conflicts in requirements and propose necessary changes in functionality or processes.
• Explain solution updates and enhancements clearly to customers through oral and written channels.
• Review test cases and give constructive input to quality assurance teams to maintain solution excellence.
• Assist in acceptance testing, confirming that criteria are met and traceability is maintained.
• Coordinate with automation testers to ensure coverage of realistic operational scenarios.
• Contribute to advancing the business analyst practice in partnership with the Product Owner.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
• At least two years’ domain experience in U.S. life and annuity insurance.
• Proficient in life administration systems and core financial systems, including hands-on involvement with system migrations, data integration, transformations, and analytics.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Excellent communication capabilities, adept at engaging directly with U.S.-based clients in a diplomatic and clear fashion.
• Strong presentation and client engagement acumen.
• Comprehensive understanding of life and annuity system data models.
• Experience defining and developing functional requirements within Agile Scrum frameworks.
• Capability in preparing process flow diagrams using various modeling approaches and tools.
• Analytical problem-solving skills combined with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of Jira is preferred.
• Effective research skills and ability to collaborate with subject matter experts.
• Willingness to adjust working hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines and coordinate with clients in U.S. time zones.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least five years of relevant Business Systems Analyst experience in complex technological projects.
• Priority given to candidates holding certifications such as Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
• Familiarity with core administration systems such as FAST, Achieve, ALIP, OIPA, Ingenium, LifePRO, and others is advantageous.
