Technical Project Lead - Data & AI

Role Overview

The Technical Project Lead is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of Data and AI initiatives, ensuring projects progress from initial planning through successful delivery and closure.

Key Responsibilities

• Take complete ownership of project delivery, managing all phases including planning, execution, governance, and conclusion.
• Engage and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across different business units, IT departments, and external vendors.
• Lead project governance by employing Agile methodologies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and progress monitoring using JIRA.
• Organize and conduct Project Review Working Groups to provide timely updates, address risks, and facilitate effective decision-making.
• Manage vendor partnerships ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
• Track project dependencies, identify potential risks and issues, and handle escalations across various streams.
• Ensure all Data, Analytics, Governance, and AI projects align with organizational objectives and deliver value.

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 12 years of experience leading substantial Data and AI projects, preferably within the banking or financial services sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge of data platforms, analytics infrastructures, and AI technologies.
• Proven track record in managing complex stakeholder groups and delivering programs within tight deadlines.
• Practical expertise with Agile project management frameworks, JIRA software, and relevant collaboration tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership capabilities, and skills in vendor management.
• Experience in banking within Qatar or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is strongly preferred.

Evaluation Criteria

• Assessment will focus on the relevance and depth of Data, Analytics, and AI project experience.
• Evidence of leadership in large-scale and complex transformation initiatives.
• Domain experience in banking or financial services within Qatar or GCC markets.
• Hands-on knowledge of Agile delivery approaches and JIRA usage.
• Competence in handling multiple stakeholders and managing vendor relations effectively.
• Readiness to support immediate project demands.
