Compensation and Working Hours
- Salary ranges from £32,000 to £35,000 per year.
- Additional benefits include profit-sharing, medical insurance, pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Role Responsibilities
- Spend approximately 80% of your time precision machining parts such as shafts, pins, and bosses using turning and milling processes.
- Operate different machines including a manual Harrison lathe, XYZ milling machine, and a Haas CNC turning center, transitioning between manual and automated processes as needed.
- Apply CAM programming skills primarily via Fusion 360 or similar software for shaping parts; the complexity is moderate.
- Assist the assembly team in fitting machined components, attaching wheels, and assembling mechanical sections to prepare machines for delivery.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Demonstrable experience in machining and toolmaking, able to produce precision parts featuring shafts, pins, bosses, keyways, and circlip grooves.
- Proficient in operating manual lathes and milling machines alongside CNC turning centers.
- Familiarity with CAM programming software, preferably Fusion 360, though other packages are acceptable.
