Overview
This role requires working onsite in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, with no option for remote work. Candidates must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and proficiency in English.
Responsibilities
- Plan and modify driving routes considering changing conditions by using computer systems, GPS, or other navigation tools to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with customers.
- Handle loading and unloading of cargo.
- Inspect and monitor vehicle condition including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage units, and other essential equipment.
- Manage payment processes related to goods transportation.
- Conduct emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips.
- Accurately document cargo details, driving hours, distance covered, and fuel usage.
Qualifications and Credentials
- Possession of a valid AZ class driver's license.
- Air Brakes Endorsement certification.
- Experience with maintaining and understanding documentation such as accident/incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance and repair documents, and trip reports.
Additional Requirements
- Valid passport and driver's license.
- Willingness to submit to driver's license validity and driving record checks.
- Capability to perform physical requirements including prolonged sitting.
