Role Overview

We seek an innovative and experienced Urban Designer to join our Riyadh, Saudi Arabia team. This role focuses on developing visionary urban design solutions that foster vibrant, sustainable communities while respecting local culture and regulations. You will collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver transformative urban spaces promoting economic and social growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive urban concepts and frameworks for diverse projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public spaces.
• Perform detailed site analysis and feasibility assessments to guide strategic design decisions.
• Create master plans, urban design guidelines, and documentation compliant with sustainability and local regulatory standards.
• Use advanced software tools to develop visualizations, 3D models, and technical drawings.
• Work collaboratively with clients, government bodies, and community groups to understand needs and present innovative designs.
• Analyze demographic, market, and site data to inform design strategy.
• Coordinate with specialists such as landscape architects and sustainability consultants to integrate holistic solutions.
• Ensure all designs adhere to Saudi Arabian building codes, zoning laws, municipal regulations, and Islamic urban design principles.
• Prepare clear, compelling presentations and reports for clients and leadership.
• Maintain high attention to detail for all project documentation and deliverables.
• Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and sustainable urban development practices.
• Support multidisciplinary team coordination to streamline project execution.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and transparent team environment committed to continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, or related discipline.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in urban design, masterplanning, or similar fields.
• Advanced proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, ArcGIS, and Revit.
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning regulations, and building codes.
• Expertise in sustainable urban design and green building methods.
• Proven track record in master planning and mixed-use development projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and detail orientation skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Project management and coordination experience.
• Preferred experience with Middle Eastern urban projects and familiarity with Islamic design principles.
• Knowledge of Saudi building codes and regulatory frameworks preferred.
• Skills in presentation software and graphic design tools advantageous.
• Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced, and collaborative work environment.
• Strong organizational aptitude to handle multiple concurrent projects.
