Utility Person - 2nd Shift

About the Role

Martin Marietta invites applications for the role of Utility Person on the 2nd shift in Ball Ground, GA. This position requires a safety-focused, reliable, and driven individual to support various key plant operations. The Utility Person performs essential cross-disciplinary duties including maintenance, production activities, equipment operation, and housekeeping tasks. Working hours are from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, with weekend shifts as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive and routine upkeep on mobile and stationary equipment, including tasks like cutting and welding with supervisory guidance.
• Conduct daily inspections before and after shifts on equipment and log maintenance outcomes diligently.
• Utilize manual and machinery tools such as hand shovels, skid steers, and front-end loaders to maintain equipment surroundings and plant grounds including roads and parking lots.
• Operate water trucks effectively to control dust levels on site.
• Contribute to diverse plant operations such as production processes, loading, shipping, and quality assurance.
• Ensure excellent housekeeping standards in assigned zones and maintain safe traffic movement within the premises.
• Safely handle specialized mobile plant equipment like excavators and haul trucks when required.
• Assist in training colleagues to promote operational competency.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications and Fit

• Possession of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience sufficient to fulfill job duties.
• Experience in the building materials sector is preferred but not mandatory.
