Workday Consultant

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Workday Consultant to contribute to the ongoing configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) modules. This role involves working directly with client stakeholders to analyze business requests, implement system adjustments, and ensure a seamless, well-tested transition to production.

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze incoming business requests in relation to current Workday HCM setups, including but not limited to Core HR, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, and Absence modules.
• Convert business requirements into detailed functional design specifications and configuration modifications.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of requests, including intake, impact evaluation, prioritization, development, testing phases, and deployment.
• Perform unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) for configuration updates.
• Develop and maintain functional documentation, configuration workbooks, and testing scripts.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and set expectations regarding timelines and project impacts.
• Monitor and communicate the status and progress of requests and their resolutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience configuring Workday HCM, at minimum with Core HR module; knowledge of additional modules is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of HR processes covering the entire hire-to-retire cycle, organizational management, compensation, and absence.
• Proficiency in business process configuration, managing security groups, and creating calculated fields within Workday.
• Ability to author clear functional specifications and test scripts.
• Strong communication skills and effective stakeholder management.
• Experience operating within large, complex organizational environments preferred.
