Job Description

This role involves supporting the skipper in all delegated tasks and maintaining a vigilant lookout from the wheelhouse during trips, adhering to collision regulations. The AB Seaman will actively participate in all emergency drills and responses, reporting any unsafe practices to the skipper. Key duties include ensuring the vessel is consistently ready for passenger boarding, managing cleaning supplies, and performing thorough external washes after each trip and at the end of every shift. Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of luggage compartments is also essential. The AB Seaman is responsible for completing the passenger manifest before departure, ensuring the skipper is informed, and handling any lost and found items securely. A proper handover to the next shift, detailing any encountered issues, is required. Personal hygiene, maintaining the uniform in excellent condition, and executing safe berthing/un-berthing procedures, including line handling, are also critical responsibilities.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a valid AB Seaman Certification, including a valid CDC with AB (II/4) qualification, STCW certification, and a medical report confirming fitness for sea duty. Prior experience as an AB Seaman, ideally within the hospitality or marine tourism sectors, is required. A foundational understanding of vessel navigation and seamanship is necessary, complemented by strong communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with safety protocols and emergency response procedures is essential. The role demands the physical capacity to undertake demanding tasks under varying weather conditions.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Doha, Qatar.
