Role Overview
The Account Executive will oversee comprehensive accounting activities within the organization, ensuring the integrity and punctuality of financial operations. Established in 2010 in Kolkata, THE Instinct is a prominent consultancy firm seeking a skilled professional to contribute to its financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting transactions systematically
- Develop and monitor budget forecasts to guide financial planning
- Timely preparation and publication of financial statements
- Manage closing processes monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accurately
- Ensure punctual processing of payments through bank channels
- Calculate applicable taxes and prepare corresponding tax returns
- Maintain and manage balance sheets and profit & loss accounts
- Generate detailed reports reflecting the firm's financial status and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions alongside relevant documentation
- Guard confidentiality of financial data and perform database backups as needed
- Adhere strictly to financial policies and compliance standards
Required Qualifications & Expertise
- Proven experience working in accounting roles
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP
- Practical experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, including proficiency with Vlookup and pivot tables
- Familiarity with general ledger operations
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical aptitude
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (B.Com in Commerce eligible)
- Additional certifications like CPA or CMA would be advantageous
