Job description
Role overview
An opportunity has opened for three Advanced Nurse Practitioners to become part of the Specialist Rehabilitation Service at Woodend Hospital. The service supports people recovering from serious injuries or conditions and delivers specialist care alongside rehabilitation. The inpatient area covers stroke, neurological, orthopaedic, vascular amputee, and some elderly rehabilitation beds.
What the role involves
This is a senior advanced practice position that requires a strong level of independence in clinical decision-making. The postholder will carry out assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prescribing for patients with complex and varied needs.
Candidate profile
Applicants are expected to have been educated to Master’s level in Advanced Practice and to be assessed as competent at that level. If a candidate does not fully satisfy all essential criteria, they may still be considered for a trainee ANP post, as long as they can demonstrate the ability to complete the postgraduate diploma. Trainees must achieve the full qualification in order to continue in the role.
Team and working pattern
The appointed ANPs will join a supportive and progressive team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners who provide round-the-clock cover for the rehabilitation wards at Woodend. The post includes work on day shifts, night shifts, and weekends.
Interview information
Interviews are scheduled for 22 July 2026.
