Job description
About Cortea
Cortea is a Berlin-based startup reshaping audit work with AI. Traditional audits are slowed down by repetitive, document-heavy tasks, and the company is building software and specialized AI agents to remove that busywork so auditors can focus on judgment and higher-value decisions.
The company is supported by leading venture capital investors, has raised more than 10 million in funding, already has a working product, and serves paying customers. The team is growing quickly and works together in person from the Berlin office.
Cortea’s culture is built around first-principles thinking, speed, trust, and kindness.
Role Overview
As an AI Product Manager, you will help shape products within Cortea’s AI audit toolbox. You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, auditors, and the founders to understand what users need, decide what should be built next, and ensure the team ships solutions that address real problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support product discovery, definition, and delivery across the AI toolbox
- Speak with customers every week to identify pain points and test solution ideas
- Create quick prototypes using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and v0 to validate concepts in hours rather than weeks
- Work closely with engineering and design from idea through launch
- Evaluate the practical strengths and limitations of AI, then translate those insights into product choices, including what to build, what to defer, and where human review is still necessary
- Bring clarity to complex problems through strong writing, focused questioning, and useful product requirements documents
What Success Looks Like
- Within your first six months, you will have helped ship at least three meaningful product initiatives and learned through iteration and customer feedback
- You will have developed deep expertise in at least one important area, such as a specific AI tool, a customer segment, the evals and quality framework, or the UX of agent-based workflows
- Founders, engineers, and customers will rely on you to guide important product decisions
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of overall experience, including at least 2 years in a product role
- Proven experience shipping B2B SaaS products that customers actively pay for and use
- Comfort working in an AI-native way, with daily use of LLMs, agents, and AI tools, plus a strong sense of what they can and cannot do today
- Experience shipping at least one AI-powered feature or product, with an understanding of issues such as evals, latency, hallucinations, trust, and the UX of probabilistic systems
- A habit of going deep into context to understand user problems properly
- Comfort with early-stage startup conditions, including high autonomy, ambiguity, and pace
Bonus Experience
- Experience founding a company or building a serious AI side project
- Ability to read code, run small scripts, or adjust prompts independently
- Background in audit, compliance, legal, or another document-heavy professional services field
What We Offer
- The chance to work on a high-impact role at a fast-scaling AI startup and grow with the product
- A mission-oriented environment grounded in first-principles thinking, ambitious ideas, and supportive teamwork
- Competitive compensation with meaningful equity
- A learning budget for courses and conferences to support your development
- A lively workplace in central Berlin with team lunches, offsites or retreats, and flexible vacation
Interview Process
- Intro call with Liza, Founders Associate at Cortea
- Product deep dive with Philipp, Co-Founder and CPO
- Culture-focused conversation with Valentin, Co-Founder and CEO
- On-site day in Berlin to meet the team and work through a real problem together
