Job description

Role overview

The Amazon Now team is a driven group of leaders focused on enabling deliveries in under 30 minutes. In this role, you will partner with a broad mix of teams across operations, technology, commercial, retail, and finance to shape and improve the product experience.

Your work will center on understanding customer behavior and usage patterns, identifying opportunities to lift site performance across important measures such as traffic, conversion, and order economics. You will design and run workstreams that improve future outcomes by finding structural fixes, testing ideas, and rolling out data-led changes that strengthen the customer journey and support growth.

You will also help shape localized assortment, manage vendor promotions and partnerships, improve pricing and in-stock performance, and drive operational process enhancements. In addition, you will contribute to a multi-year plan of initiatives that expand selection and strengthen the growth flywheel.

The role requires comfort with ambiguity, the ability to simplify complex situations, and the judgment to focus on the most important problems. You will work closely with stakeholders across operations, tech, and business functions such as in-stock, operations excellence, marketing, and category teams, while maintaining the right pace of execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Create product roadmaps and translate strategy into clear product requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering, legal, finance, and business partners to build and launch solutions.
  • Review performance data, learn from customer feedback, and refine plans based on business outcomes.
  • Rank opportunities by balancing customer value and business impact.

Required experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of product management experience and has worked on technical products or online services. Experience leading cross-functional teams in the delivery of major new products or services is also required.

Preferred qualifications

Advanced knowledge of SQL and VBA is preferred. Prior experience creating and evaluating cost-benefit models and business cases, and sharing findings across the organization, will be an advantage.

Employment and compliance

This is a full-time onsite position based in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

Amazon is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds. The company particularly encourages applications from South African citizens who are members of designated groups that can contribute to Employment Equity and broader diversity in the workplace. Selection will follow relevant Employment Equity laws and principles.

Applicants must be legally allowed to work in South Africa. You may need to provide a copy of your identity document or passport, and if you are not a South African national, any valid work permit, together with an updated CV.

If you need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the hiring process, including support for interviews or onboarding, you can request assistance through the company’s accommodation process.
